Limited offer · Oxfordshire only

Free solar panel & heat pump home survey

Thinking about solar panels or a heat pump, but not sure your home is right for them? For a limited time, eligible Oxfordshire residents can get a free home survey to find out – before spending a penny.

See what's involved

The offer, in pictures

Solar panels on a British home's roof with a wall-mounted home battery

Is your roof right for solar?

The survey checks your roof, its orientation and your energy use – and what solar PV and battery storage could save you.

The offer

What the free survey tells you

The survey looks at your property – not a product catalogue – so you get an answer based on your home.

Solar panel suitability

Whether your roof, its orientation and your home's energy use make solar PV – and optionally battery storage – a sensible fit.

Heat pump suitability

Whether your home's insulation, radiators and layout suit a heat pump, and what would need to change first.

An honest recommendation

A clear view of what's right for your property – including when the answer is that an upgrade isn't right yet.

One survey, one report

Everything you need to decide, in one clear report

Your free survey is carried out by a qualified retrofit assessor and Domestic Energy Assessor, and brings every number that matters into a single report for your home.

Government funding you may be eligible for

Which grants and schemes your home qualifies for – and exactly how much you could get.

What you'd need to contribute

The honest out-of-pocket cost after any funding is taken into account.

How much you could save

Estimated savings on your energy bills, based on your property rather than national averages.

How long it takes to pay back

A clear payback period for each option, so you can judge whether it's worth it for you.

Zero upfront options

Where available, ways to spread or remove the upfront cost – explained plainly, with the trade-offs.

A qualified assessor's view

Everything assessed and signed off by a qualified retrofit assessor and Domestic Energy Assessor.

For example, the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme currently offers grants of £7,500 towards an air or ground source heat pump – and more for some off-gas-grid homes. Your report confirms exactly what your property qualifies for, rather than relying on headline figures.

Who it's for

For eligible Oxfordshire residents

  • You live in Oxfordshire and own the property you'd like surveyed.
  • You're genuinely considering solar panels or a heat pump and want to know whether your home is suitable – not just browsing prices.
  • You request your survey before the offer ends on 31 January 2027. Places are limited and subject to a short eligibility check.

Offer ends

31 January 2027

A limited offer for eligible and serious residents of Oxfordshire. If you're outside Oxfordshire, you can still book a retrofit assessment or EPC with us as normal.

How it works

Simple, and with no obligation

  1. Request your free survey using the form below or by booking a call.
  2. We check eligibility and arrange your survey at a time that suits you.
  3. You receive clear feedback on whether your home is suitable for solar panels, a heat pump, or both – and what your options are.
  4. If you decide to go ahead, we can introduce you to a recommended installer. The choice is entirely yours.

Being open about commission

If you choose to have recommended work carried out by an installer we recommend, HENSS may receive a referral fee or commission from that installer. This never affects the price you're quoted, and you are under no obligation to use any installer we introduce – you're always free to take your survey results elsewhere.

Referral disclosure

HENSS may receive a referral fee or commission from partner installers when a customer we introduce goes ahead with work. [PLACEHOLDER – confirm the exact referral arrangements, amounts or ranges, and partner names before launch.] Any fee is paid by the partner and does not affect the price you are quoted. You are free to choose any installer, and you are never obliged to proceed with a partner we introduce.
